Overview
Dinner Under the Stars is Downtown Prince George’s newest signature culinary experience, taking place on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Veterans Plaza – City Hall. This elegant outdoor long‑table dinner will welcome approximately 100 guests for a refined evening featuring a curated five‑course meal, wine pairings, live music, and artistic elements that celebrate the creativity and culture of our downtown.
We are seeking a professional décor contractor to help bring this vision to life. The selected contractor will design and execute a cohesive, elevated aesthetic that transforms Veterans Plaza into an intimate, beautifully styled dining environment. This includes long‑table styling, lighting, ambient décor, entry features, and enhancements to the surrounding space, as well as coordination of atmospheric music and a formal art installation.
Our goal is to create a memorable, high‑quality guest experience that feels polished, intentional, and seamlessly integrated with the culinary and cultural elements of the evening. This application will help us understand your style, capabilities, and approach so we can determine the best fit for this event.
As per the approved liquor license for Dinner Under the Stars, the tented dining area and the designated drink service area must remain fully on the cement surface of Veterans Plaza. The décor contractor must ensure that all décor elements, table layouts, lighting placements, entry features, and perimeter enhancements respect this boundary and do not extend into grassy or non‑licensed areas.
The décor plan must align with the proposed site map and layout provided by Downtown Prince George, and all installations must maintain clear, unobstructed access for service staff, guests, and regulatory compliance.
Eligibility & Application Requirements
- All décor contractors must:
- Submit a completed Décor Contractor Application Form.
- Provide proof of general liability insurance.
- Provide a clear service quote or estimated cost range for the full décor package.
- Have experience providing décor for outdoor events.
- Be available for setup on July 10 (afternoon) and teardown the same evening.
- Be able to supply weather‑appropriate, wind‑safe décor and lighting.
- Be able to provide all required décor elements outlined in the Scope of Work (linens, centerpieces, lighting, entry décor, perimeter enhancements).
- Be able to coordinate with catering, AV, and site logistics.
- Provide a portfolio or examples of past décor work.
Décor Contractor Application Form
How the Selection Works
Downtown Prince George uses a fair and transparent review process to select their contractors that best aligns with our event goals. All submitted applications are reviewed by the Downtown PG team and evaluated against the criteria. The contract will be awarded to the business that offers the strongest overall combination of qualifications, experience, and value within our event budget. The décor contractor will be selected based on:
- Completion of the Décor Contractor Application Form.
- Ability to meet all eligibility and scope‑of‑work requirements.
- Quality and relevance of past décor work (portfolio).
- Proposed concept and alignment with the event’s aesthetic vision.
- Capacity to manage setup and teardown on July 10.
- Professionalism, clarity of communication, and responsiveness.
Overall value and feasibility of the proposed quote.
Only one décor contractor will be selected for this event. No additional décor providers will be contracted for overlapping services.
