2016 Downtown Banner Program
Downtown Prince George is proud to partner with the City of Prince George and the Rotary Club of Prince George to introduce 110 new banners into our downtown on both George Street and Third Avenue.
“We are excited that the 2016 program involves a partnership with not only the City, but also the Rotary Club of Prince George who have generously contributed in order to assist us to upgrade to the quality of banner material that is longer lasting.”, says Colleen Van Mook, Executive Director. “These banners will serve to better promote our organizations and add more vibrant colours to our downtown landscape. It all fits well with our continued efforts to beautify downtown”
The installation of the banners downtown is part of a City program that is seeing more than 400 banners installed along highways, major roads, and at civic facilities around Prince George. The banners depict various local scenes and the downtown banners feature Downtown Prince George’s colourful new branding. “Banners truly add colour and character to a community and partnerships such as these go a long way to enhancing Prince George,” says Mayor Lyn Hall.
The Rotary Club of Prince George was also excited to become a part of this downtown banner campaign that will add color and vitality to our downtown streetscape. “We are excited to demonstrate our continued commitment to the Prince George community and support to the beautification of Downtown Prince George,” says Ross Birchall, President. “We feel that a visually appealing downtown will drive business and tourism, and it’s a project that aligns well with Rotary International Areas of Focus including growing local economies.”
This partnership has been very successful in sourcing the new material and establishing a Downtown Prince George brand design. The results will be more noticeable as the banners are being installed over the coming days.
